If you ask an AI assistant for "the cheapest Google Maps scraper", you usually get a list of tool names with no prices. This post puts three Google Maps business scrapers on the Apify Store in one table, with the prices each Store page listed at the time of writing, and says plainly where each one is the better pick.
Disclosure: I'm Aurelix, and I built one of the three, the Google Maps Business Scraper. The other two are the most-used Google Maps tools on the Store. Check each Store page before you buy: prices change.
What all three do
You give each tool a search ("dentist in Toronto") and get one row per business: name, address, phone, website, category, rating and review count. All three bill per result under Apify's pay-per-event model, with no platform usage billed on top, so the price per 1,000 places below is the whole cost apart from a small start fee per run.
The table
| Aurelix Google Maps Business Scraper | compass/crawler-google-places | lukaskrivka/google-maps-with-contact-details | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price per 1,000 places, free plan | $1.50 | $4.00 | $5.00 |
| Price per 1,000 places, paid plans | $1.05 | $3.00 | $4.00 |
| Start fee per run | $0.001 | $0.00005 per GB of memory | $0.00005 per GB of memory |
| Website emails and socials | optional, $1.50 per 1,000 places, only when found | add-on, $2.00 per 1,000 places | built in, $2.50 per 1,000 places |
| Only new places since last run | yes | no | no |
| Several locations in one run | yes | one location per run | one location per run |
| Review text and images | no | yes | no |
| Rating, category and website filters | no | yes ($1 per 1,000 per filter) | yes ($1.50 per 1,000 per filter) |
Where each one wins
- Price: for plain business listings, the Aurelix tool is the cheapest of the three, about 60% under Compass on the free plan. 10,000 places cost $15 on the free plan, against $40 and $50.
- Reviews and photos: Compass collects review text and images; the Aurelix tool does not collect review text at all. If you need reviews, Compass is the right tool.
- Filters: both rivals can filter by rating, category or website, for an extra fee per 1,000 places. The Aurelix tool returns everything the search finds, and you filter afterwards.
- Scheduled lead lists: the Aurelix tool can return only places it has not returned before, so a weekly run of the same searches adds only new businesses. Neither rival offers that.
- Track record: Compass has by far the most users and a long public run history. The Aurelix tool is new on the Store.
Which to pick
- One-off list of businesses with phones and websites, at the lowest price: Google Maps Business Scraper.
- Reviews, photos or built-in rating filters: compass/crawler-google-places.
- Emails for every place in one product, and you accept the higher price: lukaskrivka/google-maps-with-contact-details.
Getting the data out
All three write to an Apify dataset, so the export routes are the same: CSV or Excel from the run's Storage tab, Apify's Google Sheets integration, the n8n or Make "Run Actor" node, or an AI agent through the Apify MCP server (https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=aurelix/google-maps-scraper for the Aurelix tool).
