Hi all! It seems fun. But I am learning HTML. I know AI can cook noodles in 2 seconds. But I am like, “Okay, let me cook too!” 😂
I am not making myself any less. I have already created two websites using AI, but I want to customise them myself. So, I am learning HTML again.
I actually started learning computers back in 6th standard. My mom pushed me to join computer classes, but I never pursued it professionally.
I got caught up with worldly issues and personal issues, and somewhere along the way, I forgot about myself.
Now it's time!
Okay, my tea has already gone cold. Let me heat it up now... ☕😂
First Day of Class
First day of class went like this: Git, GitLab... What is Git?
Git is a Version Control System (VCS). It helps developers track changes in their code, see when changes were made, and restore previous versions if needed.
GitLab account opened. GitLab is a platform used to host Git repositories and collaborate with other developers.
Two servers: Production and SIT.
SIT (System Integration Testing): An environment where developers test whether different parts of an application work together properly.
Production: The live environment where the actual users access the application.
Then that's it!
Second Day
HTML – HyperText Markup Language. It is a markup language used to structure the content of web pages using tags.
Body, Head, Title, IDE (Integrated Development Environment). VS Code is a popular code editor used for writing and editing code.
We also talked about Shift + 1 = !. Then, in VS Code, when we type ! and press Enter, it automatically generates the basic HTML structure using Emmet.
Meta tags provide information about a webpage to browsers and search engines. Some meta tags, such as the description tag, can help with SEO (Search Engine Optimisation).
So, this is an example of a basic HTML document:
What is the alternative to HTML?
Answer:
HTML is the standard markup language used to structure webpages, and web browsers understand HTML natively.
There is no direct replacement for HTML in standard web development. However, there are other technologies:
XML: Used to structure and store data.
XHTML: A stricter, XML-based version of HTML.
Markdown: Used to format simple text and documents.
JSX: A syntax extension commonly used with React to describe user interfaces.
Pug: A template engine that generates HTML.
Most of these technologies eventually generate or work with HTML because browsers need HTML to display webpage content.
