Raspberry Pi has raised prices on 16GB RAM models, including an $80 increase for the 16GB Raspberry Pi 5, citing persistent memory cost pressures over the past two years.
Learn which configurations are affected and what memory alternatives the company recommends.
As of November 2, the Raspberry Pi 5 version with 16 gigabytes of memory costs $385, an $80 increase from its previous price of $305. That's a roughly 26% increase for this model.
What other products are affected?
The price increases also apply to the 16 gigabyte versions of the Compute Module 5 series, whose prices have increased by $40.
However, not all products with this amount of memory are affected. The Raspberry Pi 500+, the desktop system that is integrated with a keyboard, maintains its price.
What does the company propose?
For those affected by the increases, the company recommends considering whether their projects actually require 16 gigabytes of memory, choosing smaller configurations, using older models, or optimizing memory usage.
