Ask HN: Does my iPad Air have a design bug in volume buttons?

I own an iPad Air from 2024 and every time when I press the upper (lower) volume button, it reduces (increases) volume, which, I feel, is quite counter-intuitive. I have owned this ipad for over two years now and I still press upper volume button (almost every time) when I try to increase the volume. I then realize it decreases volume.

I wonder if this is a design bug. Does your ipad volume button work the same way?
