A company that just raised money and is posting jobs is about to spend: on people, tools, agencies and office space. That is why SDRs, recruiters and agencies watch funding news. The catch is that the raise, the job board and the contact details live in three places, and a funding list on its own does not tell you who is actually growing.

This post builds a daily list that joins all three, then compares the tools on the Apify Store that do this, using the prices their Store pages listed at the time of writing.

Disclosure: I'm Aurelix, and I built Funded Companies Hiring and the Recently Funded Companies scraper mentioned below. Both are paid tools (prices below). Check each Store page before you buy: prices change.

Where the data comes from

  1. SEC EDGAR Form D, the official notice US companies file after they first sell shares, notes or SAFEs in a private round. It is public and gives the company, state, industry group and amounts raised. Investment funds, SPVs and real-estate vehicles are dropped.
  2. The company's own website, confirmed against the filing's city or phone.
  3. The company's own job board on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, Workable, BambooHR or Workday: every open role with title, department, seniority, location and link.
  4. Business contacts the company publishes on up to 5 pages of its site: emails, phones, contact pages, social links and the leaders its team page names.

Each row is one company with a one-sentence summary that says how much it raised, how many roles are open, on which job board, and in which departments most of them are. By default only companies with at least one open role are returned and charged.

A morning list of new accounts

pip install apify-client
import csv import os from apify_client import ApifyClient client = ApifyClient(os.environ["APIFY_TOKEN"]) run = client.actor("aurelix/funded-companies-hiring").call( run_input={ "daysBack": 2, "sectors": ["technology"], "minAmountSold": 2000000, "maxResults": 100, "incremental": True, "stateKey": "tech-raises-hiring", } ) rows = list(client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items()) def hiring_for(row, words): roles = row.get("new_roles") or row.get("roles") or [] return [r["title"] for r in roles if any(w in (r.get("department") or r["title"]).lower() for w in words)] with open("accounts.csv", "w", newline="", encoding="utf-8") as f: w = csv.writer(f) w.writerow(["company", "alert", "raised", "open_roles", "sales_roles", "website", "emails", "summary"]) for r in sorted(rows, key=lambda r: r.get("total_amount_sold") or 0, reverse=True): contacts = r.get("contacts") or {} w.writerow([r["company_name"], r["alert_type"], r.get("total_amount_sold"), r.get("open_roles_count"), "; ".join(hiring_for(r, ["sales", "account executive", "go to market"])[:5]), r.get("website"), "; ".join(e["email"] for e in contacts.get("emails") or []), r["summary"]]) print(f"{len(rows)} accounts in accounts.csv")

With incremental on, later runs return only companies that are new, plus companies you already have whose job board now shows roles that were not open at the last check (alert_type: "new_roles", with just those roles in new_roles). Schedule it daily, and add a Slack incoming-webhook URL in slackWebhookUrl for a plain-language digest of who raised how much and what they are hiring for.

How different teams use the same rows:

  • SDRs: sort by total_amount_sold and read departments for the angle. A company hiring five account executives needs sales tooling; one hiring its first data engineer needs a data stack.
  • Recruiters: filter roles on department or seniority for the roles you place, and use trackDays to keep watching boards for new roles.
  • Agencies: run weekly over 7 days with "hiringOnly": false to also see funded companies with a careers page but no readable roles.

Funded-and-hiring tools on the Apify Store compared

Where each wins: conserving_celerytop has the lowest start fee, which matters only for many small runs, and gets closer on Gold plans. If you only need the raise itself (company, amount, industry and the executives named on the form), not the hiring data, the Recently Funded Companies scraper costs about a quarter as much per row. Funded Companies Hiring fits when the hiring is the point: it reads seven job-board systems, lists every open role, adds the company's own contacts, and tells you when a company you already have opens new roles.

None of these give investor names or the round stage (seed, Series A): Form D doesn't carry them. If you need those, or companies outside the US, a funding database such as Crunchbase is the tool for it, on a monthly subscription.

Limits

  • US Form D filers only. Companies that raise without filing a Form D are missing, and amounts are copied as filed.
  • Websites are found only when the company name works as a .com, .ai, .io or .co domain and the site matches the filing; most small issuers get none and are not returned.
  • Open roles come only from the seven systems above, linked from or named like the company's site. Home-made careers pages give no roles.
  • Workday boards are read up to Workday's 2,000-role search limit.
  • Contacts are only what the company publishes on its own site; sites that block crawlers in robots.txt are skipped.
  • At most 30 days back, counted in EDGAR filing dates.

Cost

At the time of writing the Store page lists $20.00 per 1,000 hiring companies ($16.00 on paid plans), $10.00 per 1,000 companies with contacts found ($8.00 on paid plans) and $0.025 per run. Funded companies with no readable open roles are not charged by default, and nothing is charged twice in monitor mode. About 5 new hiring companies a day with contacts cost about $5.25 a month on the free plan. Apify's free plan includes $5 of credit a month, about 166 hiring companies with contacts.

To build the hiring side yourself for a fixed list of companies, see LinkedIn and career-site job scrapers on Apify compared, which covers the Greenhouse Jobs Scraper.
