Books and comics feel more or less solved now. Chaptarr picked up where Readarr left off for ebooks and audiobooks, and Kapowarr covers comics, proper indexer support is sitting in "Handled Soon" on their board (#52), and hardlinking is queued behind it (#212).
Manga is the hole. There's no *arr for it. Kapowarr and Mylar3 are built around comic sources, and none of it holds up if you read in a language other than English, French, in my case.
What I'm doing right now, which is held together with tape:
- indexers in Prowlarr, grabs still mostly manual into qBittorrent
- my own scripts to build ComicInfo.xml from AniList/MangaDex so series/volume/author land correctly
- folders named to match Kavita's parser
- Kavita scan triggered after import
It works, but nothing monitors a series for new volumes, there's no format preference, no upgrade logic, no automatic hardlink into the library, all the stuff Sonarr does for free.
So how do you actually run yours? Fully manual and at peace with it? Suwayomi with local downloads feeding Kavita? Something you scripted yourself? Did you give up on volumes and just track chapters?
And if you read non-English manga, is anything pulling FR/ES/etc. titles properly, or are you fixing metadata by hand in Kavita every time?
