I’m Building Happening — A Social App for Discovering What’s Happening Around You 🚀 There’s always something happening. A concert. A football match. A tech meetup. A gaming event. A community gathering. A networking opportunity. A new experience you didn't even know existed. The problem is finding it. That’s why I’m building Happening. Happening is a social app that helps people discover events, experiences, communities, and things happening around them — while giving them a place to connect and participate. 🌍 Built from Kenya, for the world. I started Happening because I wanted to answer a simple question: «What if you could open one app and simply see what’s happening around you?» Instead of information about events being scattered across Instagram, WhatsApp groups, websites, posters, and different platforms, Happening brings discovery and social interaction together. What I'm building Happening is more than an event listing platform. It's being built around: 🎉 Discovering events and experiences 👥 Connecting with people 💬 Discussions around events 📸 Sharing event moments 🤝 Communities and social connections 🎟️ Ticketing and event participation 🔒 Private events and invitations ✅ Verified organizers And this is only the beginning. The journey I'm building Happening as an independent developer and founder, and getting an idea from code into the hands of real users has taught me something: Building the product is only half the battle. The other half is getting people to discover it, try it, give feedback, and eventually make it part of their lives. That's where I am right now. I'm looking for developers, designers, event organizers, creators, communities, and anyone interested in building the future of social discovery to follow the journey and share their thoughts. And I'm building Happening to help solve that. webdev #javascript #react #startup #opensource #kenya #buildinpublic[]( )
