节目简介
“I'm so here for it” 的意思可不是 “我是为了它才在这里”!在口语表达 “here for it” 当中,介词 “for” 其实有 “支持,赞同” 的含义,因此,这个表达通常用来表示 “非常支持或赞同某个想法、做法或决定” ,也可以表示 “特别喜欢某样东西”。听节目,跟主持人菲菲和 Becca 学习这个地道表达的用法。

Hello and welcome to Authentic Real English, where we explain phrases and expressions used by fluent English speakers so that you can use them too. I'm Feifei.
Becca
And I'm Becca.
Feifei
How are you, Becca?
Becca
I'm good, thanks Feifei. I've noticed you've changed the way you style your hair. I must say, I'm so here for it!
Feifei
Thank you for noticing, Becca! But, you're here for what exactly?
Becca
What I mean by being 'here for it' is that I support it, 'it' being your change of hairstyle. The phrase 'here for it' expresses approval or agreement for something. It could even encourage something or show that I really like it.
Feifei
I see. So, it doesn't mean that you're physically in any sort of place.
Becca
Right. It's not really about being in a place. I could text you from afar that 'I'm here for it', and I could be miles away.
Feifei
I see. Let's listen to some more examples.
Examples
Have you noticed the toilets in the office today are really stinky? I'm so not here for it.
My friend wants to try lots of new things this year, so she suggested we go to ballet classes and, honestly, I'm here for it.
The weather's getting colder, it's getting so much cosier. I'm so here for it.

你正在收听的是 BBC 英语教学制作的 “地道英语” 节目。在本期节目中,我们正在学习口语表达 “here for it” 的用法。在口语中,“here for it” 的意思通常并不是字面上的 “为了某事而来到这里”,而是表示 “完全支持或赞同某个想法、行为或决定”,或者 “特别喜欢某样东西”。其中,介词 “for” 在这个表达中带有 “支持,认可” 的意思。
Becca, it seems that this expression often follows a statement.
Becca
Yes. When we use 'here for it', we need to make sure that we stated, or asked about, what it is that we support. Remember, this expression needs a context because the pronoun 'it' refers to what was previously said.
Feifei
And how else can we use this expression?
Becca
We could say 'I'm here for that' but for things that aren't in front of us at that moment. So, I could say something like 'Oh, you're going to organise the next staff dinner. I'm so here for that.'
Feifei
That makes sense. 当我们想对不在当前时间或者地点发生的事情表示支持或赞同的时候,可以把 “here for it” 当中的代词 “it” 换成指示代词 “that”,这样对方也更容易明白我们所指的是哪件事情。
