"Lovable vs Cursor" is a confusing search because the two tools aren't really competing for the same job.
Lovable, Bolt, Replit Agent, v0, Emergent and Base44 are AI app builders: you describe an app in a browser, and the vendor writes it, runs it, and hosts it. Cursor, Claude Code and GitHub Copilot are AI coding tools: they work on a codebase that lives wherever you put it — your machine, your repo, your host.
The question that actually matters before you pay for either category: can you get your code out? We checked every vendor's own pricing and docs pages as of October 2026, and the answer varies more than you'd expect:
- Lovable and v0 sync to GitHub on their free plans.
- Emergent only unlocks GitHub integration at its $20/month Standard tier.
- Base44 promises "two-way GitHub sync" in its FAQ, but its own plan table only lists GitHub integration from the $40/month Builder plan up — on Free or Starter, your code stays in Base44.
- Bolt's pricing page says nothing about GitHub or export at all, so that one needs checking inside your actual project before you build anything you intend to keep.
That one detail — export, not raw capability — is the thing that decides whether a prototype becomes a real asset or a dead end you have to rebuild from scratch.
The common path that works: prototype in a builder with GitHub sync, get a working demo fast, then clone the repo into Cursor or Claude Code once the project needs real backend logic, scheduled jobs, unusual auth, or tests — things builders don't model well. Claude Code runs $20/month via Claude Pro; Cursor's current tiers are Free, Plus $8 (Grok-only), and Premium $30; GitHub Copilot Pro is $10/month and the cheapest way into real code if you already use VS Code.
A realistic first-month budget doing both: about $45 — Lovable Pro ($25) to prototype, Claude Pro ($20) once the repo exists and matters.
