You can make AI videos on your Android phone with Off Grid AI Mobile (OGAM). Type "Create a video of a paper boat on a pond" into a chat and a clip comes back. It renders with the open Wan models on your phone or on your own computer, so there are no credits to buy and no upload.
Video is part of Off Grid AI Pro. One Pro purchase covers your phone and your computer.

Why make video on your own phone
Cloud video apps sell credits. A few retries can use up a month of them, and every prompt and photo sits on their servers.
With OGAM the model is a one-time download. A retry costs nothing but time. The clip lands in your chat and your Gallery, and it never passes through anyone else's server.
What you need
- An Android phone with about 12 GB of RAM to render on the phone. The Galaxy S25 Ultra and OnePlus 13 are two examples. A phone with 16 GB renders Wan 2.1 at its full size.
- Or any Android phone plus your own computer. Phones with less memory pair with Off Grid AI Desktop (OGAD) on your Mac or PC, and the computer renders the clip.
- Off Grid AI Pro. $79.99 once (regular $119) or $7.99 a month, for up to 5 devices.
- About 5 GB of free storage for the smallest video model, and Wi-Fi for that one download.
The video models your phone can run
OGAM's Video tab lists only the models your phone can run. On a 12 GB Android phone that is:
| Model | Makes | Download |
|---|---|---|
| Wan 2.1 (1.3B), Light | Clips from a description | About 4.75 GB |
| Wan 2.2 (5B), Light | Clips from a description or a photo | About 7.95 GB |
{: .vs-table}
Start with Wan 2.1 (1.3B), Light. It is the smaller download and the quicker render. Add Wan 2.2 when you want a clip that starts from your own photo.
Make your first clip
- Install OGAM from Google Play and turn on Pro.
- Open Models, then the Video tab. Download Wan 2.1 (1.3B), Light. The total includes every file the model needs.
- Open a chat and type Create a video of followed by your scene. "Create a video of a red fox walking through snow at dusk" works better than "a fox". Name the subject, the motion and the light.
- Pick a style from the row above the message box if you want one: Cinematic, Nature, Animation, Product shot, Vintage film or Talking head. The chat remembers your pick.
- Send it. The clip renders on the phone and appears in the chat.
You do not flip any switch for video. The words "Create a video of" are enough.
The finished clip plays in the chat. Tap the full screen button, or pop it out in picture in picture and keep chatting. Press Restyle to make the same clip in another style, or Extend to keep the shot going. Every clip is also in the Gallery, where you can play, save or delete it.
Get the best quality on your phone
On a phone under 16 GB, OGAM renders Wan 2.1 smaller than its trained 832x480 so it fits in memory. The clip says so: "Smaller to fit this phone."
Open the chat's settings and find Video generation:
- Use recommended settings puts back the size and steps that fit your phone.
- Try full size (832×480) renders at the model's trained size. On a 12 GB phone it may run out of memory, so try it on a short clip first.
- Steps trade time for sharpness. Frames set the clip length.
- Negative prompt lists what to avoid, such as "blurry, text, watermark".
Video on Android renders on the processor, so it takes minutes. In OGAM's own test, a 12 GB OnePlus Nord made a 320x192 clip in 12 minutes 49 seconds. Start a clip, put the phone down, and come back to it.
Make sharper videos with your computer
Your computer's GPU renders far faster than any phone, at full size. OGAM can hand it the job.
- Install Off Grid AI Desktop on your Mac or Windows PC and turn on Pro there with the same key.
- On the computer, download a video model in Models.
- On the computer, open Devices and select Show QR Code.
- On the phone, open Settings > Sync and use Scan pairing QR code.
When your phone has no video model of its own, OGAM sends clips to the paired computer. For films and for Animate this photo, you choose On this phone or On your computer each time. The finished video comes back to the phone. Nothing passes through a cloud server.
The pairing guide covers the first connection in detail.
Bring a photo to life
Open a picture in the Gallery and tap Animate this photo. OGAM writes a starting line, "The scene comes to life with gentle, natural motion", which you can change. Then tap Animate.
This needs a model that starts from a picture, such as Wan 2.2 (5B), Light, on the phone or on your computer.
Turn one sentence into a short film
A clip is one shot. OGAM can also plan a short film: write the story in one sentence, read the shots it suggests, and render them as one film with narration. Download a voice in Models first if you want a narrator.
On Android, a film keeps rendering with the screen off, under a notification. Choose Tonight and it waits until the phone is charging.
FAQ
Can I make AI videos on my Android phone without credits?
Yes. Off Grid AI Pro renders clips with open Wan models on your own hardware. There is no credit meter, so every retry is free.
How much RAM does my Android phone need for AI video?
About 12 GB to render on the phone. Those phones get the Light builds of Wan 2.1 and Wan 2.2. A 16 GB phone renders Wan 2.1 at its full 832x480. With less memory, pair a computer and it renders the clip.
How long does a video take on an Android phone?
Minutes. In OGAM's own test, a 12 GB OnePlus Nord rendered a 320x192 clip in 12 minutes 49 seconds. A paired computer is much faster.
Do my prompts or photos get uploaded?
No. The clip renders on your phone or on your own paired computer, over your own network.
Is AI video free in Off Grid AI?
Video is part of Pro: $79.99 once or $7.99 a month, for up to 5 devices. The free app makes pictures, chats and transcribes.
