Hi HN! Sharing our latest open-source project: Privato

Agents now get access to our email, texts, calendar, files, everything. They can read whatever they like, whenever they like. We sacrifice personal data privacy for max productivity.

But we no longer have to. Privato gives AI agents a scoped, temporary pass to ONLY the data it needs to answer a question.

If you ask "When does my flight to Tokyo leave?", the agent accesses your airline emails about that trip for 10 minutes, nothing else.
