Hey everyone!

I’m Akshat—a BCA student at Amity University Mumbai into cloud architecture, front-end dev, and building fast web tools.

Like most students, I've spent plenty of nights fighting with laggy college portals at 11:58 PM. So instead of just complaining about connection timeouts, I decided to build a lightweight campus gateway project on my laptop to test out how to fix those friction points.

Starting tomorrow, I’m kicking off a short "Building in Public" series breaking down the project step-by-step. I'll be sharing:

  • Why we skipped heavy JS frameworks for plain HTML/vanilla JS to save load times
  • How we used native browser APIs to handle cross-tab sync and offline file queues
  • Real lessons from using AI tools (Claude, Gemini, GPTs) as pair-programmers to speed up build time

Posting Day 0 (the architecture & retrospective) tomorrow!

If you like reading about system design, web performance, or scrappy student projects, drop a connection—would love to hear how you handle these kinds of builds!
